Lloydminster Alpaca Showcase
“Fleece Competition 2011”

The Alpaca Showcase 2011 "Fleece Competition" is using the Alpaca Canada Show System.

Important:  You may register by mail or online.  Either way a
 General Registration Form
still needs to be mailed in with your cheque. 
Please be sure that every fleece has a Fleece ID Form in the bag. 
Judging will commence Friday morning.

Fleece Show Instructions and Rules (read)
The Fleece Show Committee requests that each fleece shown shall:

·        Consist of the prime blanket fibre only and shall be displayed skirted of all short, stained and extremely course fibre .  Heavy organic contamination should be removed as well.

·        Be rolled cut side out and transported in clear plastic bags (Glad clear bags work well), along with the completed identification form.              

 Fleeces will be judged on fineness and handle; character; lustre; density; uniformity of: micron, colour, and length throughout the fleece; lack of medullated fibers or guard hair; lack of impurities/stain/tip damage, and clean fleece weight.

 Judging:  Thursday, October 13, Friday October 14th, 2011 by Lisa Shimeld, dependant on fleece numbers

 Prizes:  Ribbons will be awarded in each class from 1st to 4th

 Entry Fee: $40.00 per fleece entry – make cheques payable to Lloydminster Alpaca Showcase

ENTRY FORMS AND FLEECES NEED TO BE MAILED.  BECAUSE THE FLEECE SHOW IS BEFORE THE HALTER SHOW ALL FLEECES NEED TO BE POST MARKED BY OCTOBER 4, 2011

 **For those of you who are not attending the Lloydminster Alpaca Showcase but will be entering the fleece competition, please make arrangements to have your fleeces returned to you, or provide proper postage and a mailing label to have your fleeces sent back to you.**

**We are offering the option to forward your fleece on from our show to the Alpaca Canada National Fleece Show, please check the appropriate box on the registration form if you would like to do this.  Alpaca Canada only returns fleece collect.**
